Dr. Davtyan, Lap-Band Patient and Surgeon
Dr. David G. Davtyan is a prominent
and respected surgeon in Beverly
Hills. He is not only one of the most knowledgeable
surgeons currently performing the LAP-BAND®
procedure but he is also a LAP-BAND®
patient himself.
Dr. Davtyan studied the LAP-BAND®
prodcedure in Brussels, Belgium where it was first introduced.
He performed his first LAP-BAND®operation
in October 2001 in Brussels with one of the pioneers,
Professor Guy-Bernard Cadiere.
Dr. Davtyan became one of the first surgeons in the United
States to offer the LAP-BAND® after FDA
approval in April 2001. In addition, Dr. Davtyan is the
first surgeon to open and operate an outpatient center
for LAP-BAND® procedure in Southern California.
He is currently on the
Advisory Board of Obesity
Help magazine (OH), a well-known publication
that offers support and provides education to the millions
of people worldwide who suffer from obesity. He has also
written and published several
LAP-BAND®
related articles for various medical jounals. Dr. Davtyan
is in private practice but he also holds a Medical Director
title in several Los Angeles area hospitals for the
LAP-BAND®
procedure.
